The Application Process

  1. Expressing interest
    Contact L’Arche Homefires HomeShare Coordinator, Carrie (902-542-3520 or homeshare@larchehomefires.org) to express interest and setup an initial meeting.

  2. Apply
    Complete the application and provide necessary documentation to be considered for a HomeShare Provider position.

  3. Coordinate a Home Visit
    You and your family will undergo a ‘home study’. A home study is an in-depth examination of your ability, motivation, and aptitude to provide support. The home study will also examine your family dynamics and confirm the appropriateness of the home. Different steps will be taken if you intend to move in with a core member.

  4. Conduct a Self Reflection
    After the Home Visit, reflect on the experience at that point and share any concerns with our HomeShare Coordinator.

  5. Participate in a Second Home Visit
    This a continuation of the items addressed in Home Visit 1. Members of the family absent at the first Home Visit should be met with and have the same questions posed to them.

  6. Get Approved

    Look forward to receiving a match with a core member and beginning your HomeShare journey. Ongoing training, monitoring and home visits will continue throughout your time as a Provider.
